Expert review
The 2015 Ford Escape remains a friendly, approachable family crossover that consumes fuel politely, but it can also be loaded up with luxury and technology and drives like a million bucks.
The Ford Escape started life as a boxy, earnest little compact crossover. Its market niche grew up around it, and so the Escape has become stylish and refined. Crossover vehicles are the hottest segment on the face of the earth. People love them because they’re car-based and car-like, while also offering the virtues that made SUVs popular: extra ride height, handy liftgates, and superior cargo space versus a sedan with a trunk. These are cars for people with lives, and they don’t get in the way of letting you live them.

What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2015 Ford Escape appreciate its value for money and performance, particularly in terms of power and functionality. Many drivers enjoyed the car's features, especially in the Titanium model, but some expressed dissatisfaction with interior storage space and a few reliability concerns. The vehicle is often compared favorably against competitors, with a notable mention being its better pickup compared to the Honda CR-V. Some reviewers found the technology a bit overwhelming, while others praised its driving experience."
It has a 2.5L naturally aspirated motor. The two smaller motors Ford used are not as reliable. This motor is very reliable. Plenty of interior room and trunk space. Very happy with the car.
June 3, 2026I would only buy an escape with the 2.5 l naturally aspirated engine which is what this had. It was a one owner car with 140k. So far I'm very happy with it and it was priced under KBB retail numbers.
June 2, 20262015 is the body style and features I like. Great gas mileage and room to haul stuff.

August 4, 2025The titanium package is wonderful. The large touch display is amazing. There are sensors all around the car which help you back up, hands free open the liftgate, and even lock your door simply by touching a sensor. The manual states some cars have blind spot recognition which my car does not have, and automatic parallel parking which my car also does not have. There are 2 recalls on my vehicle. One for a transmission bushing which made a noticeable improvement in my car, and a 2nd for a door lock which apparently can open even while driving. Scary but i was assured wouldnt actually happed. Im still super new to the vehicle but so far I love it. I love the back up camera. The car beeps when you start getting close to something which is great. My tire size is 235 45 19. The tires arent common so you pay a premium for them. My mechanic who has been in buisness for 40 years did not have the adapter for the lug nuts. The lugs on the car are a real specialty so if you snap one off or lose the adapter your probably screwed. Also having to put on a spare would be tough since my tire iron wont work on this vehicle. As far as driving i love the car. I love being up higher. Its nice to be up a little bit for your morning cup of coffee. Its nice that you dont have to step down into it. It seems to handle well. No issues accelerating up hills. The engine is fit for the task at hand. The car also has a hill assist so you wont have to worry about slightly rolling down a hill while you switch from breaks to gas.
February 17, 2023This car is definitely good value especially the Titanium model. It has many features you find in more expensive cars
August 8, 2020The Ford Escape boasts some good state of the art features that make it a suitable economical vehicle. The price is reasonable for a small to mid sized SUV/CROSSOVER, making the Escape a great value if you prefer economy and bang for the buck.
December 28, 2023Compared to the Honda crv, Id say the escape has better pickup, its a very nice car, the power of a truck compact as a car
August 8, 2021The remote key doesnt work and the drivers seat cant be moved for the drivers comfort. That was the deal breaker for me. I could barely reach the gas and brake pedals, and it would be impossible for my husband to drive as is.
December 12, 2023I recently purchased a top of the line with all the options available 2.0L engine with intelligent 4WD (has 95k miles). Car has great power, but does lack interior storage space. The MyFord system everyone complains about is easy to use, so Im not sure why people complain about it. Does appear that Ford seems to use cheap materials under the hood though. In the first 800 miles I had to replace the Vapor Canister Purge Valve , and now the Heater Core inlet hose is leaking coolant, which based on what Ive read are common issues with this car. Other than those issues that car has been great to drive and feels well made.
July 14, 2022This is my first exposure to a car with numerous computer features. It will take some study to become familiar with most of them. The first items of interest are to program the radio presets and other functions of the dashboard. The owners manual had multiple versions of radio and heating, and the instructions were not necessarily user friendly. The car itself is excellent as a vehicle and a pleasure to drive.
