Is the 2024 Subaru Legacy a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Subaru Legacy earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out as a midsize sedan that makes all-wheel drive standard, and it also brings a more spacious interior, a stiffer chassis, better ride quality, and a quieter cabin. For you, that means the Legacy is especially appealing if you want a relaxed, refined sedan with standard AWD and a comfort-first feel. The market also shows 31.8% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Subaru Legacy reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Legacy’s overview emphasizes safety and comfort, along with standard EyeSight and a well-equipped feature set across the range. Its standard all-wheel drive and refined chassis tuning also support the sense that it is built for steady everyday use rather than high-strung performance. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the concept of the car and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by age or mileage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru Legacy?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you’re considering, even if the overall market looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on condition, signs of prior damage, and how well the cabin and mechanical components have held up. Because the Legacy is positioned as a comfort-oriented sedan, you’ll want to pay close attention to ride quality, interior wear, and whether the car feels as refined as the listing suggests.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru Legacy?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what to look for.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,081 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,740, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $24,804 sits slightly below last year's $25,395.

That price movement suggests the Legacy has softened a bit in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is documented over time. If you keep the car clean, maintained, and accident-free, you’ll be in a better position to protect value when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the right pick if you want the Legacy’s standard AWD, comfort-focused setup, and a market that still offers decent deal potential. If your priority is simply the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 gives you a strong balance of value, inventory, and buyer confidence.
