How much does the 2022 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 9.84% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,536 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and equipment.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Acura MDX earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its handling, interior quality, spaciousness, comfort, and luxury-practical balance. The main trade-offs are technology complaints and some feature omissions, along with the cramped third row noted in the overview.

For you, that means the MDX makes the most sense if you want a stylish three-row luxury crossover that feels engaging to drive without giving up everyday usefulness. It also lands well if you value a polished cabin and a strong feature set more than maximum rear-seat space.

The market shows 33.9% of listings as good or great deals, which is a healthy signal for value-minded shoppers.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with repeated praise for comfort, quality, and the kind of long-term appeal that helps a vehicle age well. The expert evaluation also emphasizes a solid, rigid structure and a powertrain that works smoothly with the transmission, which supports confidence in day-to-day use.

The ownership picture looks favorable for used buyers, though you should still prioritize maintenance records and a careful pre-purchase inspection to reduce long-term risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Acura MDX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report, confirm service records, and inspect the cabin and electronics carefully, since technology complaints show up in owner feedback. Pay extra attention to the third row and overall condition if you plan to use the MDX as a family hauler.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base MDX gets standard Jewel Eye LED headlights, 19-inch wheels, and a simpler audio setup, while Tech and above add 20-inch wheels and more upscale equipment. The base trim also misses some of the richer luxury and convenience features found higher up the lineup.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard on base MDX and Tech, while SH-AWD is optional there and standard on the higher trims.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes collision mitigation braking system, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assist, road departure mitigation, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitor, expanded pedestrian detection capability, and traffic-jam assist.
• Infotainment: Every MDX gets a 12.3-inch landscape-oriented infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Qi-compatible wireless charging, a WiFi hotspot, and OTA updates. Navigation is standard on Tech and above.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the provided data.

Which 2022 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: MDX, Tech Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package.

Here's the short version:

• MDX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core MDX experience with the V6, AcuraWatch, wireless smartphone integration, and the new cabin design. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the extra luxury and tech upgrades.
• Tech Package: This is the best-value trim because it adds navigation and the stronger ELS Studio audio setup while keeping the MDX’s balanced character. If you want the sweet spot in the lineup, this is the one to target.
• A-Spec Package: This trim leans into sportier appearance and includes SH-AWD only, making it the choice if you care more about style and a more athletic presentation.
• Advance Package: This is the luxury-focused pick, with the richest equipment and the most upscale feel. It suits you best if comfort and convenience matter more than price.

AcuraWatch is standard across the lineup, so you get the core safety suite no matter which trim you choose.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Acura MDX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing movement to reward comparison shopping.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,536 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.84% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,524, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $33,524 sits slightly below last year's $37,184.

That price movement suggests the MDX has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it comes time to sell. Strong demand for well-kept luxury SUVs can also help support pricing, especially when the vehicle has a good reputation with owners.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX safe?

The 2022 Acura MDX hasn’t yet received released crash-test ratings from IIHS or NHTSA in the provided data.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard on all MDX models and includes collision mitigation braking system, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assist, road departure mitigation, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitor, expanded pedestrian detection capability, and traffic-jam assist. The MDX also adds low-speed braking control, collision mitigation throttle control, and a structure designed with more high-strength steel for better collision protection.

Should I buy a 2022 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a new platform, new design, and a more assertive driving character.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $38,172, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $33,524 average.
• It adds complimentary AcuraLink connected services and scheduled maintenance.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the lower price and the fresh redesign without paying extra for the next model year. If you value the added connected services and maintenance coverage, the 2023 is the better fit, but price-sensitive buyers will likely find the 2022 the smarter buy.
